HOW ISLAMIC FINANCE IS RELATED TO SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY?
Islam approaches social responsibility in two ways.
One is to forbid activities that deemed damaging and harmful to society as well as to the social order.
The other is to decree humans to pursue economic activities, which promotes economic justice and ensures the protection of the rights of the unprivileged sector of the society.
As a result, Islamic finance restrains itself from sponsoring business, which is related to gambling, alcohol, pornography and other unethical business. It paves the way for Islamic finance to focus solely on those activities which are environmentally friendly, ethical and socially responsible.
